Dogs are wonderful pets! They are adorable, snuggly, and extremely devoted. Full-grown dogs are wild animals, and it is the sweet part of having a dog that we all love so much. Dogs wag their tails and wet our noses to make us smile. But every now and then dogs will do something that we don't see coming and it will catch us off guard — they will wipe their bottoms on the floor! But if your dog does this, you don’t have to panic too much. This is an extremely common behaviour among dogs, and there are valid reasons for it.
Living with dogs can result in a major mess when dogs wipe their bums on the carpet. It’s not fun for anyone, and it can dirty up your home. Here are useful tips to prevent your furry buddy from doing this:
Mop Up Promptly: If your canine’s mess, it’s imperative that you mop up at once. Use a special cleaner to remove the stain and any odors. The fix will prevent your dog from wanting to wipe his bottom there again.
To Inspect for Skin Issues: Occasionally dogs develop skin problems that are irritating. If you see your dog wiping its bum often, make sure you check if they have irritation or rashes. If you notice anything out of the ordinary, it would be best to go to a vet with your dog. The vet will be able to treat any issues.
Exercise Them: Dogs need to be exercised everyday to remain healthy and fit. You want to ensure your dog is played with and walked enough. An exercised dog is typically a happy dog, and are less likely to be anxious or agitated.
Anal glands: At the rear end of every dog are two tiny glands that secret an odorous liquid. Sometimes, these glands don’t empty properly when a dog poops. When their poop is too solid or too texture, it can discomfort them. Afterwards, the dog will roll his bum on the floor so that they will feel better.
Marking Their Territory: Dogs inherently have a desire to mark their territory. When they wipe their bottoms on the floor, they are marking their scent. It can cause them to feel safe and at ease in their environment.
